I want to do a book club on poverty with my VISTAs focused on the theme of poverty.  I have a large list which I have attached of books that are available at my local library dealing with both American and global poverty.  Some are controversial; books worth talking about usually are.  Let me know if you have any other ideas of books that are thematically linked to our anti-poverty work.

Thank you so much for sharing this list! One book I'd like to add is "Growing Up Empty"-Loretta Schwartz-Nobel. It deals with hunger in America

Awesome list! I'm definitely going to go through this myself. Another one that's on my personal list is High Risers by Austen. It's about public housing in America through a specific case study of a housing development in Chicago.

Ashiya, or anyone else,

Could you attach the list again? The link no longer works in your original email...probably due to the transition to the new website.

Thanks!
