Online Course time commitment

Before my site supervisor signs off on me taking one of the VISTA online courses, she wants to know how many total hours will be spent on it. I know it's 10 weeks, but I'm not sure how many hours a week it will take. Does anybody know where I can find that information, or has anybody taken the Volunteer Mobilization or Resource Development courses and remember how long they took?

I just completed the pilot course for Community Engagement, which I believe they are going to start offering sometime soon. It was not too bad--I would say 2-4 hours a week. If you find that to be true for your's, I just set up one morning a week on my slowest day and completed all the assignments. It was a good experience--a little silo-y, but that was ok. I enjoyed the peace and quiet and focusing on the topic.  Good luck!  Iris

I just finished the Community Engagement and Volunteer Mobilization courses, and I would say I spent roughly 3-5 hours a week on the materials depending on the assignment for the week. I usually just set some time aside on one of my less-busy days to get the stuff done.

Good luck!
