Think you’re ready to take on the Action Learning Challenge?

Leaders are required to make a commitment to participate in the challenge through its completion, which will take 4-6 months. There are two Action Learning Challenges each year: January through April and March though June. You will receive specific information about the new topics and application process by email.

Leaders interested in participating are required to have attended the Leader Orientation.

How to apply:

Step 1: Attend an Action Learning informational webinar. To see a list of upcoming Leader webinars, please visit our Leader webinars page.

Step 2: If, after attending the informational webinar, you are interested in applying, you will need to secure approval to participate from your Supervisor and State Office. In addition to answering the application questions, you must indicate that you have these two approvals in order to complete the application process. If possible, consider securing the consent of your Supervisor and State Office prior to attending the informational webinar.

Step 3: Immediately following your informational webinar attendance, you will receive an Action Learning Challenge Application by email to complete and submit electronically.

Step 4: The ALC Coaching Team will review your application and inform you via email about your selection status.

What do I need to do to be eligible for this opportunity?

1. Attend the informational webinar that provides more detail about participating in the Action Learning Challenge and the upcoming projects. You will receive announcements about the webinar by email.

2. If you are interested in submitting an application for consideration after attending an informational webinar, you will need to secure approval to participate from your project supervisor and State Office prior to actual submission of your application.

How are projects selected?

The Action Learning Challenge projects are selected by the VISTA staff, with the goal of strengthening the VISTA program nationwide.
